Troy City Schools is eligible and has been able to apply for federal funding through the following programs:
Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund
Congress set aside approximately $13.2 billion to the Education Stabilization Fund through the CARES Act for the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER Fund). The Department awarded these grants to State Educational Agencies (SEAs) for the purpose of providing Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) with emergency relief funds to address the impact that COVID-19 has had, and continues to have, on elementary and secondary schools across the nation.
Funds can support any allowable activity under existing federal funds (Title I, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Perkins, etc.), expenses directly related to the pandemic, as well as “other activities that are necessary to maintain the operation of continuity of services.”
Troy City Schools has been eligible for funding through three applications, ESSER I, ESSER II and the American Rescue Plan.
