Human Resources: Substitute Support Staff

Before your first day of subbing you must:(Some forms can be completed online and then printed while others will have to be printed first and then filled out by hand.)
 

  1. COMPLETE THE ONLINE EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION
    through the Dayton Area School Employment Consortium. if you have not already done so.  Make sure you select the CLASSIFIED portion of the application.
     
  2. CONTACT KELLY HENDERSON AND REQUEST EMPLOYMENT PAPERWORK TO BE ELECTRONICALLY SIGNED AND RETURNED.

  3. ONCE COMPLETED THE HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT WILL CONTACT YOU TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT
    At this appointment you will be fingerprinted and review all of the above paperwork. You will need to be BCII and FBI fingerprinted. Please let us know if you have been fingerprinted for either agency within the last 12 months.  
     
  4. EDUCATIONAL AIDE PERMIT
     We will give you the instructions to complete the process to obtain your permit after steps 1-3 are complete
         *If you are subbing as a teacher’s aide or library aide, you are required to obtain an Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.   You must do this through a school district (we will provide you with the district IRN #); ODE will not accept applications or renewals directly from an individual.

          *If you have at least a bachelor’s degree you may apply for a Substituting Teaching License instead of a permit. This allows you to work as an aide and you can also sign up to substitute teach now or at a later date. 

 

PROMPTNESS IS IMPORTANT!
Fingerprints are valid for 12 months; if you do not follow through with the rest of the hiring requirements before 12 months have passed, you will have to be re-fingerprinted.
