Staff Profile

My name is Myra Sanders. I have worked in the Troy City Schools since 2008. I love teaching and am so excited to now be a permanent 2nd grade teacher. I feel that the consistency will help me navigate our exciting new Language Arts curriculum. 

My experience as a teacher began in Kettering where I taught 3^rd grade for five years.  I “retired” to take care of my oldest son, and then added four more children to my family. I completed my master’s degree while being a stay-at-home mom. I have taught 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd grades.

I like to use hands-on activities in my classroom whenever possible! I strive to make connections with my families and build a rapport with my students and parents alike. You will see me doing home visits and inviting family members in to help their child be a Star Chef!

My three oldest sons have graduated from colleges and tech schools. The oldest is married and living in New York, my 2^nd son is married and lives in Columbus and is in the Army.  My 3^rd son is married and works in Tipp City and lives in Troy.  My 4^th son is at OSU, and loves being a Buckeye.  My 5^th child, my only daughter, is a freshman at Ohio University, studying pre-med. I love to travel with my family and plan to visit them and as many places as I can this year since my husband and I are officially "empty-nesters".  I am a busy wife and mother of five who is excited to come to school each and every day!
