We wanted to update you on how our hybrid learning model will work should we make the decision to go with that plan. Our decision to go with that plan will be based on spread within the community, our schools and amongst staff members.
Here is what hybrid learning will look like:
How It Will Work
Should we go to the hybrid learning model, our students will be split into two groups, a Red Group and a Gray Group, to help us better achieve social distancing in our schools.
The Red Group would attend school in person on Mondays and Tuesdays. Red Group will be online Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The Gray Group would attend school in person on Thursdays and Fridays. Gray Group will be online Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Both groups would learn online on Wednesdays.
Red Group (last names A-I)
Gray Group (last names J-Z)
When students with different last names are living in the same household, then all of the students within the household would be in the same group as the sibling whose last name comes first in the alphabet. (For example, if students with the last names Adams, Jones and Zimmerman all lived in the same household, all three would be in the Red Group).
Calamity Days and holidays
On days when in-person learning is canceled due to weather, all students will go to online learning that day. Due to the later start to the school year, there will be no calamity days for the 2020-21 school year.
On weeks in which a holiday falls, both Red Group and Gray Group will attend in-person learning for two days and there will be no online learning on Wednesdays. For example, if Monday is a holiday, the Red Group will learn in person on Tuesday and Wednesday, while the Gray Group will learn in person Thursday and Friday. On weeks in which a holiday falls on a Friday, the Red Team would be in person on Monday and Tuesday, while the Gray Group would be in person on Wednesday and Thursday.
