Troy going to hybrid learning beginning Monday, Nov. 30

Hello Troy Parents,

We hope you all had a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday, and we have some important information for everyone:

Miami County now has the sixth-highest COVID-19 infection rate per capita in Ohio.

As a result, Troy City Schools are shifting to our hybrid learning plan, effective Monday, November 30th. That applies to ALL students in grades K-12. Additionally, Concord Elementary School will return to its normal start and dismissal times. Please visit our website (or click on THIS LINK) for more information about the plan and to see when your child should report to school.

  • Students in Red Group (Last names A-I) will report in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays, and will learn online Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

  • Students in Gray Group (Last names J-Z) will be learning online Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will report in-person on Thursdays and Friday.

  • When students with different last names are living in the same household, then all of the students within the household would be in the same group as the sibling whose last name comes first in the alphabet. (For example, if students with the last names Adams, Jones and Zimmerman all lived in the same household, all three would be in the Red Group).

This hybrid plan allows us to achieve more social distance in schools, reducing the chances of being considered a “close contact” in the event someone in their class tests positive.

We look forward to the return to normal operations and will continue to evaluate local indicators to determine when that can happen. We will send out an update later in the week of Nov. 30 regarding what our plan will be for the following week.

Also,  just a reminder that Monday, November 30th is the last day to indicate a desire to shift from in-person to online or from online to in-person learning for the second semester. Please visit our website for that LINK. If you want your child to continue with what they have you do not need to do anything.

Thank you and GO TROJANS!
