| Troy High School has been in
existence for over 100 years. In 1851, the Ohio
legislature passed a law allowing for schools to be funded
through taxation. Town leaders elected to the school
board seized upon this opportunity to create a public high
school. In 1852, Troy High School was
opened. The first graduating class of 1856
consisted of four members. The current senior class of 2005
will graduate 342.
Our high school is one of thirteen school in Ohio and
sixty-eight in the
nation that has been fully accredited by North Central Association of College
and Schools for 100 continuous years.
Since its inception, Troy High School has been housed
in 4 different buildings and locations. The current
high school was built in 1958 in the northern
section of Troy overlooking the Great Miami
River. Renovations and additions to the original
structure have occurred at various intervals.
The high school and the community have formed a strong
partnership over the past 100 years. The Troy
